Bio
Amir completed his bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of Bonn, where he later continued into the master’s program in Molecular Cell Biology. He joined the Hölzel group in February 2025 as a research assistant, contributing to the analysis of AI-generated protein binders. As part of his master’s thesis, he characterized AI-designed Peptide-MHC minibinders targeting cancer-associated antigens for immunotherapy in small cell lung cancer. After completing his master’s degree, Amir returned to the group in November 2025 as a PhD student, continuing the project. His research focuses on optimizing experimental pipelines for AI-designed peptide-MHC immunotherapy. By combining molecular cell biology with cutting-edge computational design, he aims to develop new targeted treatment strategies for small cell lung cancer.
