Bio
Damian is a resident in gynecological Oncology in the Clinic for Gynaecology and Gynaecologic Oncology at the University Hospital in Bonn. In August 2021, he was awarded a competitive research grant (Gerok-Fellowship), which enables him to take a one-year leave of clinical practice to deepen his research expertise at the Institute of Experimental Oncology in Bonn. In collaboration with the Clinic, he is focusing on the establishment of an innovative patient-derived ovarian cancer organoid platform in order to study new clinically relevant therapeutic concepts. Using high dimensional flow cytometry, multiplex immunofluorescence (CODEX) and sequencing techniques, he aims to characterize tumor intrinsic effects and the impact on immune signaling in cancer- as well as immune cells within the tumor microenvironment.
