Julian Layer

Julian received his medical degree from the University of Bonn in 2018. Previously, he completed his MD thesis in Hölzel lab. Upon completion of his thesis he worked as an Oncology resident in the Department of Internal Medicine (Cancer research) at the University hospital Essen followed by a residency in the Department of Radiotherapy at the University hospital Essen. 2021 he joined the University hospital Bonn, working both as resident for the Department of Radiation Oncology and as a post-doctoral researcher for the Institute for Experimental Oncology. Julian aims to build a bridge between patient care and preclinical projects and e.g. takes care of the translational aspects of the ongoing phase I/II GLORIA trial bringing together physicians and scientists.
