Bio

Tim received his MSc in Cancer Biology from the University of Heidelberg and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in 2024. Following his Master's degree, he joined the Hölzel Lab as a PhD student in the same year. Prior to this, Tim completed his BSc in Molecular Biomedicine at the University of Bonn and wrote his thesis in the Hölzel Lab. His work focuses on the intersection of computational biology and experimental lab procedures. Tim has advanced experience in the analysis of highly multiplexed imaging data and the integration of computational pipelines with wet lab techniques. In his PhD project, Tim is working on the integration of computational tools for AI-guided protein binder design in the lab. This highly interdisciplinary project aims to enable new options for the rational design of options to actively interact with the immune system via in-silico designed proteins.
