Bio

Franziska received her M.Sc. degree in Molecular Cell Biology from the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University Bonn. Due to her high interest in the field of immunology, she started her master thesis at the Institute of Experimental Oncology where she focused on the establishment of a protocol to genetically engineer primary mouse NK cells by the use of the CRISPR-Cas9 system. In 2023, she joined the Bald lab at the Institute of Experimental Oncology as a PhD student. In her PhD project, she now focuses on a more cancer related topic by investigating nectin and nectin-like molecules in the tumour microenvironment in order to improve immune therapy treatment.
